Klaus Huber 1973

From the 24th to 27th September, on the occasion of rehearsals for the premiere of his opus "Jot - or when will the Lord return?" with the German Opera of Berlin in the Orangery of Charlottenburg Castle.

Born in 1924 in Berne. He belongs to the most interesting and internationally bestknown Swiss composers. Since 1973, he has taught at the Music High School in Freiburg im Breisgau as head of the composition class and the studio for new music.

The film centers on the rehearsals, inserts, reactions of the public after the premiere, fragments of an interview with Klaus Huber all touching once more on the themic circle of the opus: joke, dream, politics, fairy-tales, reflection and dialectic, religion, mythology and biography, slamming doors, psychology and psycho-analysis, murder and resurrection, Mao and Marx, play and eroticism, laughter (repeatedly), etc.

André-Francois Marescotti 1973

The film aims at presenting the man who is Marescotti through his music, his surroundings (home and Conservatory), his face and what he says about himself - i.e. a selfpresentation. In the course of the conversations, it became clear that his origins and his place of birth, Carouge, occupy the most important place in his emotional world. In the final sequences, therefore, filmic impressions of his town, still unique today, are cut in against the "2nd Carouge Concerto" by Marescotti: Homage to Carouge.
